About Me

As an accomplished, committed, and constantly curious fashion designer and conceptual artist, I have accumulated over 4 years of couture sewing technique with a supplementary 3 years of experimental draping and patterning method. I am driven by a passion for consumer understanding and trending, and a desire to translate conceptual ideas into business initiative. I embrace how to create reality through creative process. I specialize in use of salvaged and recycled articles or unconventional objects.
I have lots of runway experience, both helping coordinate and participating as a featured designer. My clothing reflects luxury and elegance, while maintaining that it is all made from recycled objects. Everything in my collection comes from something else, and had a separate life as an alternate garment. The fabrics can come from other garments that are de-constructed, or simply from fabrics that were discarded or donated. Often times I incorporate found objects into my work- such as animal horn buttons, vintage shoe buckles as toggles, etc. I tend to try and think of various aspects of how the garment will be worn, and try to reach out from the original purpose of the design. I am well known for using items, such as umbrellas, in clothing design, making the clothing serve multiple purposes. (wearing an umbrella is useful on a rainy day!) I also tend to gravitate towards interior design fabrics, such as various re-upholstery fabrics, curtain fabrics, etc. I like people to try and guess what things are made out of. I like to use things that have already been worn- because it lets me know that that fabric is comfortable enough to keep being worn. I take pride in making things that were considered "second-hand" or "trash" look like priceless works of art. I also specialize in use of fur, I like to re-use it on new items.
