About Me

I am a member of the Boston Photography Center with a studio near Logan Airport. My professional interest is portrait photography, as shown on my web site. During the past few years, however, I have become equally focused on developing a body of creative work.

A major theme of interest for me is the representation of myths, dreams, and fantasies, using Photoshop where necessary to blend images. An example shown in my portfolio here is a work entitled “Pythia”, which was the name given to the priestess of Apollo at Delphi. This work also suggests the myth of Persephone, held captive in the underworld by Hades for half of each year.

Another recurring theme for me is centered around “struggle”, whether in a contemporary or fantasy setting. Rodin’s sculpture in general, and specifically his work “Gates of Hell” has been inspirational for me since my college days, and one of my on-going works is compositing various models with a very high resolution image of this famous sculpture. Several works in my portfolio here represent this theme.

My photos have been shown in juried exhibitions at several local galleries, and on three occasions were chosen as one of the selected winners in juried competitions at the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont.
