I like to call myself a serious amateur photographer in that I'm more than the casual hobbiest but not a paid professional. I started studying photography a few years ago, having taken classes at Berkeley, done workshops in LA, read multiple books, and just plain practiced. I have one presentation to my credit in a gallery in downtown San Francisco as a result of a student project. Most of my work has been landscape and travel photography. I am just now entering the realm of model photography and am most interested in deep emotion, contrasts of beauty and ugliness, and humor. I would like to work with models who can portray an emotion or an idea, i.e. actors more than pretty faces. I believe a good photo expresses one idea, and the ability of photographer and model to get that idea across determines the result.
