I use models for my own digital art and for commercial assignments. Sometimes shoot models for free in exchange for model release to use in my digital art images.

I found my photography passion while a student at West Virginia University. Upon graduating for WVU I opened my own photography studio, Friends Photo Studio. Later called Friend and Coombs Photography Studio shooting portraits, school portraits and weddings. Next I worked for West Virginia University for 26 years from 1984 to 2011. It was a great job for 25 years giving me the opportunity to shoot a variety of subjects. Now semi retired, one of my great passions in life is still photography. Through my photography I seek to capture scenes and events as I see them and to share with others the beauty and diversity of the world we live in.
I view the art of photography as a distilling of reality into a personal vision. As such I often use the tools of modern photography – digital enhancement – to try to capture in an image the emotions I felt at that moment.
Today I license images for all manner of commercial and editorial use and sell fine art prints.
