a minimalist in my approach to photography. much more art driven than commercial.
i am primarily an analog photographer, but dabble in digital from time to time... my rates are reasonable, and will always be open for discussion... that's how a fluid free market works. discounts with use of bitcoin. that said... I am typically not in the market to pay for the opportunity to shoot... but you just never know. if you're still reading... our images are more likely to be seen hanging in a show, rather than that of the pages of a glossy magazine. when the occasion permits i prefer to shoot on location with only available light, be it a home, office, indoors, or out etc etc. i edit within my frame, as i do not generally post edit my images be them analog or digital. very little direction is given when shooting any model, as i feel the images become too contrived. i try to capture that "reflection of light" that nature intended us to see with just myself, camera and you. more images can be seen of course on my site that is linked, as well... i try to leave the pretentiousness out of all of this... after all we should be having fun in our craft, no?
Here is a little of what has been said of my work in recent past. "Seeing yourself through Freeland's eyes is a phenomenal and delightful experience. He captures your face, body, expression, gesture and energy at moments when your guard is down. You're not posing. You're just you. You're not trying. Freeland exposes those glimpses of beauty that will surprise you. "Whoa, is that me?!" That's the hallmark of a gifted photographer." ~Chai Chan, Magaluna "I confess that I’m no artist, much less a photographer, but I really love Israel’s work and I have ever since I first saw it ... His work feels intimate, yet approachable, and just a little bit imperfect in a way that makes it so I can’t look away." ~The Lingerie Addict "The dimension and focus on detail is extraordinary! ...as if a blurry scene from a dream I lost sight of. #yourgeniusisshowing" ~damepiece
