About Me

Professional Photographer and Retoucher. 22years experience in the field of photography. Retouching Services for experienced Models and those starting out. Professional Modeling Photographer. Model shoots $300.00 Retouching $50.00 per Image.

Glamour ,Weddings Events Let my work speak for itself. I am a professional & Friendly photographer who is always looking to expand my portfolio.I am an Internationally published professional photographer based out of Roanke Va. specializing in "Beauty" Photography. Unique angles and sultry poses create one of a kind photos like no other. Style range within all the glamour categories including, but not limited to, fitness, swimwear, implied nudes also No matter what the style of the shoot, I am professional and provide a fun, "non-creepy" atmosphere to shoot in.
-(What You See Is What You Get)...I am a photographer first and foremost, I am a digital artist who creates those incredible images post shoot. If you are looking for that, I come highly recommended. I shoot for realism and consistency during my shoots and not just looking for that one killer image from a set. The sample photos included in my portfolio and on my website are a single sample of the photos taken during a set with typically many more in the set of the same quality and consistency. I have the time to edit a single photo to perfect it but rather shoot with consistent lighting and exposures to create a series of photos that can be used directly from the camera without need to adjust exposures, color, cropping or other alterations in Photoshop other then for skin and blemish editing. WYSIWYG

Fifteen years of professional photography wasn’t enough to get it out of my system, so I decided to do it again – starting on a part-time basis.

“One man's fantasy is another man's job.” – Richard Avedon

I started out in newspaper photography and did mostly news, sports and photos for models' portfolios (best of all worlds) before taking a job that I couldn’t refuse – which left no time for photography.

My previous experience was during the Film Era. Until the last weekend in September, 2000, the only cameras I had used for several years had been point-and-shoot digital cameras. The first two dozen images in my portfolio all made in my first weekend using a professional grade camera that didn't have film in it (or a digital camera that wasn't a point-and-shoot).

I spent the last three months of 2009 climbing the Paintshop Pro 4 ladder those first two dozen images (and looking for a studio to shoot in on a regular basis). Good post-processing is time consuming – and it's ridiculously so while you're learning the software.

I’m doing portfolio development again. My rates are reasonable (which isn’t necessarily a synonym for cheap).

I've Worked Studios . Although my photography business is separate from .. I have a full time makeup artist and hair styler on call with over 700 models,in the past MUA's, stylists, advertisers and advertising agency representatives dropped in for the studio's Grand Opening on February 25.

As I continue to build and round out my own portfolio (again), I will do selective TF* work as time permits, as long as it will benefit the portfolios of all parties. If I approach a model and invite her to do a shoot, I won’t be asking her to pay for it.

I believe all parties should benefit equally from TF* shoots, and all parties should get the types of images they want and need for their portfolios.

Different models have different career paths and different portfolio needs. I don’t automatically try to steer models toward glamour, nudes, implieds, lingerie or swimwear in paid or TF* shoots. I will be glad to analyze the model’s port and help establish a direction and a general portfolio development plan or strategy.

After a shoot, my goal is not to see how many images I can cram into a CD. It’s to produce 1-2 true portfolio-quality images for each wardrobe/hairstyle/background combination. You really don’t want more than one image from the same set in your portfolio anyway, unless they’re *very* different – do you?

I’d rather be shooting than post-processing, and I’d rather spend my time getting the absolute most out of the best images than post-processing second and third bests and trying to salvage the mediocre ones.

I don’t give out unretouched images. No exceptions. And I don’t allow others to retouch my images, with the occasional exception of a professional working under my direction.

Be warned. Although the quality of my Photoshop work has become much better and somewhat faster, I’m still not the fastest with Photoshop.

* * * THE LAND OF 2% * * *

“A photographer we work with often talks about the land of 2 percent. This is a special land, with a very small population, and you need to decide if you want to live there. The denizens of this land believe that *anything* that makes their image at least 2 percent better is worth the extra time, money and effort. In this land, time, money and effort are not objects, and whatever is best for the image is done. Living in the land of 2 percent is basically the opposite of an efficient workflow, but it can result in truly spectacular images...” – Tony Corbell and Joshua Haftel in Nik Software Exposed

For better or worse, when it comes to post-processing – especially an image that really gets my juices flowing – I seem to have landed right smack in the middle of this sparsely-populated land.

I haven’t decided yet whether this is a blessing or a curse. Ask me in a couple of years, after I’ve internalized more of the steps and techniques, so I don’t have to refer frequently to a stack of books and tutorial videos, and hopefully have developed more speed in post-processing.

Virtually all my prints and the vast majority of my negatives and transparencies were destroyed in a flood in 1986.

I've uploaded a b&w blast from the past for those who remember the Nikon F and Tri-X film – or wish they did. I remember them well. I shot the last image in my portfolio during the 80s.
