About Me

I started playing in a few bands when i didn't even know how to play an instrument very well. we would cover songs by our favorite bands and try and write our own.

After High School I moved to Manhattan and got into making music, lyrics, recording, and altogether producing music for myself and friends. I was fortunate to stay with a friend in a really nice area of the city, but after a while i could not afford it and had to move back home. I started a band up with some friends from high school. We named the band The Paveway. The Paveway wrote songs, played in the very well known store Hot Topic, played some shows in NYC, and made merchandise, We took a permanent hiatus due to everyone having their irreconcilable differences in music taste and personal habits.

It helps to have friends and family that are supportive of your dream. I unfortunately have had a lot of fights with my family about being an artist. When you’re an artist you need to the support of the people you care about in order to keep performing none stop. I haven't really gotten much support from my family but I keep going. it also helps when you need a couch to sleep on when you’re on tour.I've been putting together concerts for my band on my own for as long as I’ve been out of regimented schooling.

Some people choose to take school seriously and others choose to become an artist and take that seriously. I’ve taken a little bit of both worlds. Whatever allows me to have a family and kids in the future? So far going to university has allowed me to keep playing without my family thinking I'm a loser. That being said, this project is solely a hobby. I would love for it to become something more, but being that the industry is so competitive, it’s really about who you know. I try and network with as many people as I can.

I now write and record music for my current bands The Abbey and Mendolin. When I happen to have free time, I record music for this solo project Matt Delay. I own and operate a recording studio.
