Jesus J. Hernandez was born in McAllen, Texas. At the age of seventeen, he joined the armed forces with a desire to make some changes to his life. After his career in the United States Air Force, he spent a few years trying to find his calling and moved around several times before situating himself in Minnesota. His true calling came into focus after coming across a Pentax film camera he spotted at thrift shop for thirty-five dollars. He was later gifted a 35mm EOS Canon Film camera by friend of his who saw a photographic talent in him. Jesus is currently a senior at the University of Minnesota where he has developed his photographic repertoire into a series of enigmatic photographs.

Jesus has shown a great amount of success throughout his lifetime. Everything he has committed to he has brought excellence and refinement to, which in turn is inspired by his ability to see the beauty in the harshness of situations. His artworks have been shown at the Willmar Public Library of Willmar MN, The Ridgewater College Gallery both in Willmar in Hutchinson MN, The Potato Eaters Art Gallery in Willmar MN, The Minneapolis Institute of Art of MN, The Regis Art Center at the University of Minnesota and the Burnett Gallery in Downtown Minneapolis, MN

Jesus’s hard work and dedication is reflected in his lifetime achievements. Jesus graduated salutatorian of his high school class in 2001. By the time Jesus had turned twenty years of age he had already received recognition for his top-notch abilities as an airman and was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct award, National Defense Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Award.
