About Me

WHEN YOU THINK OF A GRAPHIC ARTIST MOST PEOPLE THINK OF PHOTOSHOP, CUT-N-PASTE, GOOGLE IMAGES, AND THE SAME OVER-USED STYLES AND PIECES OF WORK, OR PIECES OF SHIT MIGHT BE A BETTER CHOICE OF WORDS. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO DEVIL SICCX YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO GET DARKNESS, ORIGINALITY, HARD WORK, AND A PIECE OF HIS SOUL PUT INTO EVERY PROJECT THAT HE TAKES ON.

Some people tend to think of the name as being aligned with something satanic or evil but Siccx breaks it down for all those who get it twisted.

“I took the number 6 because in biblical terms it is the mark of man, imperfect without God and struggling. The Devil comes in because he is the opposite of God, the eternal antagonist, and I am on the opposite spectrum when it comes to my art.”

Kenneth Ancheta PKA Devil Siccx was born in Oakland California and spent his whole life in the Bay Area. He grew up at the Bridgeport/Harbor Island housing complex in Alameda. Where he grew up was pretty rough but as Siccx recalls it wasn’t that bad of an experience.

“It was pretty much the slums but we made the best of it. I was fortunate to grow up around all kinds of cultures. We had everybody in that mutha fucka, I wouldn’t give it up for nothing!”

Siccx whom is Filipino is proud of his ancestry and was able to travel to the Philippines when he was a young teen.

“It was rough over there too, with dirt roads, tin roofs and the whole nine yards, but I was just a kid and had fun while I was there. I hope to go back soon to see how it is now”

He was born with the talent as an artist as it went back generations in his bloodline. His Grandfather was an artist and most notably was his brother “Dream.”

“I remember watching my brother drawing in his notebook. He was not a tagger he was a writer because everything he put up had a message behind it. He bombed everywhere!”

In 2000 Siccx’s older brother, artistic mentor, and biggest inspiration “Dream” passed away when Siccx was only 15. As expected it hit Siccx very hard and he incorporated his loss, feelings, and anger into his style as an artist. More than ten years have passed since the death of “Dream” but his legacy lives on not only through Siccx but through the entire city of Oakland.

“February 17th is known as “Dream Day.” It is a day to put down the guns and become a community!”

Even though February 17th is a very hard day for Siccx and his family it is also a day of celebration to honor his brother in a way where the whole city can get involved. A relaunch of his brother’s site www.dreamtdk.net also a book is in the works as Dream was a big influence.

“When you say “Dream TDK Graffiti King” everybody knows who you are talking about. He is a big influence and I have a lot to live up to.”

Siccx over the years has contributed to the game in many ways. One of his 1st big projects was E-Moe’s classic album “1nce Again” He has also contributed all of the graphics to the internet Murder Master Music Show which was hosted by Scott Bejda from Murder Dog Magazine. The show lasted for 3 years and would not have been possible with out the hard work and dedication from Siccx. One of Siccx’s most notable pieces was with the highly successful, Murder Dog Magazine reviewed “Assisted Suicide” album cover by the legendary West Coast MC “X-Raided”

“That was my stamp! When I did that one I pretty much put my stamp on it to this point! That was my masterpiece. That music was a big influence as you can see from my name. By listening to that kind of music helped me cope with the loss of my brother and gave me the motivation to draw!”

Currently Siccx is a full fledged member of the Underground Society Movement as he came up not only with the logo but the album cover for the “Fuck Tha! Illuminati” compilation. Check him out on www.facebook.com/siccx as well as www.ugsocietymovement.com
