Juliya Skakhulova is the founder and creative director of Alenova Fashion (London based fashion company). Every item Skakhulova makes is handmade in her studio and all the fabrics are sourced from local shops or donated by UK suppliers.

Born in Russia, lived in Kazakhstan. Skakhulova independently moved to UK to study fashion and finished with a Masters degree at De Montfort University.

She believes it is crucial to make distinctive fashion. She wants to bring confidence in her customer's self-image, her design goal is to be the most refined, quirky and cutting-edge.

The core values in her designs are clever combinations and manipulations of various materials, combined with classic organic shapes accenting on a strong engineering twist. It's important for her to create unusual 3D silhouettes by playing with pattern cutting and fabric manipulation on the body.
