I have always seen things a little differently. While others saw the rain and covered up, I revelled in it. While others stayed indoors in air conditioned comfort, I enjoyed the heat of summer percolating into my bones, the sweat drenching my shirt..
swimming in the rain, long distance runs during the monsoons where one can see ones own reflection on the glistening tarmac gave me more happiness and satisfaction than anything else.
Therefore, in a world where everyone wanted to be either an engineer or a doctor, I was a complete misfit. With an engineer father and a doctor mother, I did not know what I wanted to to.
Then photography happened.
The chance to create something with my mind and translate it to paper. It was an awesome high.
It has been around thirty years since I first picked up a camera.And I still enjoy it thoroughly. Not just still images, but the power to tell a story via the movie camera.
