My name is Kirk McKoy and I have been working as a photographer in Los Angeles for more than 35 years. (CURRENTLY IN THE DMV AREA) I’m a photojournalist that specialized in Fashion and Celebrity Portraits. I am the Senior Photographer/Photo Editor for the Feature Section of the Los Angeles Times, and a Pulitzer Prize winner for my photo on the coverage of the L.A. Riots.

I'm often working on personal projects as well so looking for talented people to work on photo shoots for the Times IMAGE section (This includes make-up and Hair stylists). Currently, I am looking to build a few art series for publication and exhibition. I hope to use this site as a means
to network and build a better working relationship with the right team of models, hair and makeup, and retoucher. Let’s help each other on this journey.

My feeling is that these days we photographers add the most value by joining with models to transform the ordinary and somehow render it extraordinary. To rise above the snapshot.

At our best, we should seek to transcend the ordinary. When we do, our work delights the eye. And sometimes--if we're fortunate--it also touches the heart and soul.

50% deposit at time of booking with the balance paid the date of your session. MUA services are not provided for the special rate but are always recommended.

Standard 2022 studio rates are:

IN STUDIO:
Half day (4 hours) - $1300
Full Day (8 hours+) - $2700

LOCATION:
Half day (4 hours) - $1200 + expenses
Full Day (8 hours) - $2500 + expenses
