With every click of the shutter, a moment is captured and held in time indefinitely. It takes photographer and model hostage, fusing their souls together for an instant to portray a message that neither one may fully understand or comprehend until the final photo is revealed. When the full emotion and sentiment of that second is imprinted for eternity on their souls.

From the second I step in front of the lens, I have one question on my mind. “What story am I here to tell today?” Like life, the story always changes. No two photographers are alike, nor are any two models. With every combination a different story is told, a different emotion is conveyed; another life is touched in a different way.

I was recently asked by a photographer, “What is your plan for your portfolio?” At the time, my answer was one that was lacking, so much so that I truly do not remember my answer, because I had not fully thought about what I wanted to achieve. After several days of pondering this question and rolling it around in my brain (yes models do have those), I finally came up with my answer.

What I want to achieve is to have someone look at my photos and not say, “There is a pretty girl” but for someone to quietly take in the emotion that surrounds the meaning behind the photograph. Of course I would love to one day be on the cover of Vogue or InStyle, or gracing a runway in New York or Paris. What sane girl wouldn’t want that? But to be able to say that someone was truly touched by a photo that you helped create, is no small accomplishment.

I travel to Jacksonville, NC, Charleston, WV, and Roanoke VA frequently and I am willing to travel outside of those areas on a case by case basis.
