About Me

Photography is a means to explore the world. As such, I train my camera on every aspect of the world around me. With my fine art work, I aim to capture aspects of the world that bring up issues of both emotional and intellectual relevance; in fact, I can't imagine any photograph being truly arresting and interesting that didn't address on some level both these aspects of human life. Whether dealing with city or country, people or places, reportage or modernist abstraction, I believe working in diverse genres is an essential practice for the engaged artist working in the 21st century.

I am eager to apply myself to toward producing beautiful, commercially-viable work that will be a credit to both myself and, more importantly, to the models I shoot, whose careers I hope will benefit from our collaboration. In my commercial photographic work, I aim to provide models with the most outstanding image quality, imbued with technical and artistic excellence. The relationship between photographer and model is incredibly dynamic; I see it as a collaboration between equals, where the end result is something more powerful and exciting than what we could have created on our own. My work is strongly grounded in both the most current trends seen gracing the pages of Vogue and Harpers Bazaar, and the works of past masters (who can possibly forget the legacy of such giants as Arthur Steiglitz, Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, et al?), but also looks toward the future, always ready to push boundaries in technique and artistic vision. I look to further improve my skills in all aspects of fashion photography and related areas in hopes of better serving my clients and growing my new business in an increasingly competitive market environment.
