It's time I revised my profile. After living in Seattle for a little over a year, and meeting some great artists and photographers, I'm looking forward to becoming part of this close knit community.

I learned what I know about photography by reading everything I could find, buying equipment, and making a lot of photos of my family and friends. I might have gone a little overboard with all of it. I work with cameras from miniature spy-style 16mm, to 8x10 view cameras, and just about everything in between, and recently I bought my first DSLR (nothing fancy). I formulate my own developers for film and prints (a few have even been published), and make prints in the darkroom -- Photo Center Northwest is a great resource!

I've been photographing my dear and lovely wife and partner almost exclusively for the last few years, and we've decided it's time to reach out to our new community. I've studied portraiture exhaustively for the last twenty years, and it is my first photographic love, but I'm interested in trying some conceptual/ fashion work. I tend to think cinematically, and I'm particularly interested in the offbeat and unconventional. I'm fascinated by futurism, and spend a lot of time thinking about what the future will look like. Ironic, perhaps, for a guy who still shoots large format film, but I think the combination can be very interesting. I would also like to learn more about digital imaging and editing, and I hope to work with and learn from those experienced in this area.In fact, I hope to learn from everyone willing to work with me.

I'm looking to work with people interested in collaborating, and I am not in a position to pay, except with prints. Anyone looking to learn about shooting film, especially large format film, might enjoy shooting with me. I take my work seriously, and treat my collaborators with the same respect and dignity I expect in return. And I like to have fun!

Anyone who is considering working with me should be aware of a few things. While I'll probably shoot some digital, I mostly shoot film, and all of my serious work is still done in this slow, low volume workflow. I don't typically make a lot of exposures, and I'm very selective about what I actually print. If you expect to receive a few hundred digital files the day after a shoot, I'll certainly disappoint you, and I don't want to do that. What you can expect is my best work, as quickly as I can get it to you.

I've sent out several friend requests before revising my profile (I never claimed to be a genius), and I hope you'll give my profile a second look. I plan to post some more work, soon. I'm looking forward to meeting and working with Seattle's most creative artists!
