About Me

I would describe myself as an artistic explorer with a passion for beauty and adventure.....with a camera. I am very proud of my photographic work, yet I have a hard time describing myself as a "photographer" because it turns out I operate somewhat differently than any photographer I've come across as of yet. Just over a year ago, an impulsive move to Nevada drew me into an unexpected creative journey. I often found myself wandering the desert in quiet solitude, experiencing and capturing a beauty too rarely seen. I start many mornings by traveling arbitrary directions through unfamiliar roads. I can't help but wonder where they'll take me. These aimless odysseys have shown me that when one journeys with no destination, focus is relaxed, making visible the beauty that destinations obscure. Also, with no destination, you're always where you want to be.
For a long time I was not particularly interested in working with human models. A tree or a mountain is not concerned by the presence of an observer (even one with a camera). Nature knows nothing of insecurity. It isn't concerned with opinions or judgments, and remains unaltered. This strength, to simply be as it will be, is, to me, the source of nature's beauty. Its true pure beauty, innate to all things, yet easily clouded and lost by human insecurity. Suddenly I had an idea, an artistic concept I was excited to explore, that would bring together the beauty of nature's simple "being" and the dynamic energy of human models. I began working with models, but did the shoots outdoors, and organized them in such a way that the resulting photos were not simply portraits with a natural background. I've been working to create a synergy between the two elements, in which the natural landscape enhances the model, while the model brings life and soul to a (semi)-inanimate landscape. The result is a connection of beauty from all directions.
I absolutely love, and live for, the art I can create from the world around me. However, this so far has been my curse. I have been content simply capturing and creating art for art's sake, just to enjoy it and share it with others who didn't get to experience it first hand, SO content that I make very little effort to market myself, so currently I remain a starving (but pretty happy) artist. Hungry, but happy.
I am interested in exploring all things photo related and am a very capable artist. I would be more than happy to take on any sort of photography project just to continue the journey and learn new things.
I guarantee any project will be taken on for the love of creating and sharing beauty which will result in unique top quality work.
