Friends (25)About Me
I was born in Iran, Tehran in 1989.
I was raised by a family passionate about art, music and sport. I dreamed of achieving fame ever since I was young. Throughout my life, I would spend most of my time learning to play different music instruments, performing, acting, improving my singing capabilities and sports. Music and art is my life and are in my blood. I cannot imagine going through a day without feeding my soul with the ambrosia of art and music. I sought a new and exciting challenges in life. I started playing percussions (with Tombak) when I was 6 years old, and I started drawing and painting around the age of 8. I also participated in sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis and swimming around the same age. My childhood passions still stick with me today. Later, the art of acting became a strong passion. When I was in intermediate school, theater seemed intriguing to me; therefore, I involved myself with the theater section in middle guidance school. Once I entered into high school, I had to stop being actively involved in some forms of art because I was studying educating in a private high school, but I tried to continue pursuing my hobbies in painting, music, and one specific sport - tennis. My high school course presented challenging courses. I was majoring in experimental science and engineering. I acquired two diplomas: one in engineering and the other one in experimental science for the purpose of going to medical school because my parents insisted that there are more job opportunities in those fields. In fact, although my parents were supportive of me pursuing art on the side, they never encouraged that I pursue anything but science. After taking university entrance exams in Tehran, I was accepted for to biomedical engineering and lab science. However, I chose the biomedical engineering field because I was so passionate about this specific study. At an adult age I signed up for the program, yet deep inside I was not quite twenty, my friends complimented my fashion sense of style and the way I dressed and carried myself. They believed that I would make a great model. At that time, my passion of acting suddenly was awakened inside me again and made me think of acting and modeling. Then, I started to make my portfolio and get got into several different commercials on television. A couple of months later, I moved to California, so I could not finish my educational program for biomedical engineering in Iran. Being here in America was pretty rather exciting for to me, but it stopped me for a few months from being an active person because of my strange feelings towards my big new movement. Therefore, in order to adjust myself, I tried to get familiar with the new area soon and get out of the feeling like stranger to this country who barely spoke English. I went to college and continued to take prerequisite courses in preparation of my major I had stopped back home. It was extremely difficult at the beginning. I had to see the new world in a different language, but that was my decision. I tried harder to pass my classes despite my language impediment. The other problem was that I had to become independent and live on my own. Financial and educational barriers pushed me to the brink. Although I made education my first priority by constantly talking to the teacher and practicing, my grade results in the first semester suffered. However, I improved immensely in the following semesters. Beside my studies, I got my feet wet into the music and film again. Because I met a lot of wonderful people along the way, and also it opened many doors for me to expand my activities interests in music, acting and allowed me to stretch my vision. Although I didn’t have a strong social field with musicians and directors fields, I started to work as a volunteer, and built my reputation. I acquired more experience and expanded my social life by meeting new people. Gradually, I was building skills and jobs for myself in music and film than before. In music, I played many concerts and performances at various ceremonial events at many universities such as UCLA, USC, UCI, and etc., as well as at several other events for different organization, especially child foundations. In addition, I have various acting experiences in short movies, film, music videos, and commercials since I moved to California, as well. After all of these activities being involved in all these avenues of performing arts, I realized that how much I love what I am doing. I decided to change my major to editing and directing programs despite after almost spending two years on an engineering major at the college. I no longer decided to stay on my parent’s decided path for me. I realize the importance of following my lifelong dream. Verified Credits (0)Worked with Arian Khoroushi Ari K?
