Janusz Madej was born in Warsaw, Poland. At the age of 10 he was admitted to train as a ballet dancer at The Warsaw School of Ballet. After 8 years of grueling training, Janusz received a scholarship from The Central School of Ballet in London, United Kingdom. Janusz accepted a contract to join The Northern Ballet Theatre in 1996. For two years Janusz toured with NBT all over the United Kingdom, performing in such ballets as Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote, Giselle, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dracula and many others. In 1998 Wayne Eagling, the artistic director of Het Nationale Ballet (HNB) offered him a contract to join the company in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He also choreographed two pieces for the highly acclaimed choreography workshop ‘New Moves’: “Madness” (1999) and “Rhapsody of proxemics” (2003).
He also took part in acting workshops and studied acting with The Department of Acting Amsterdam, and took part in tens of short films in cooperation with different filmmaking schools from Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Janusz got acceptanced for study “Masterclass’ of renowned Hollywood acting coach Ivana Chubbuck. Janusz submitted an application to The Los Angeles Film School for their ‘Science in Film Degree’ study.In 2009 the culmination of his study at The Los Angeles Film School was the production of his thesis film ‘Stigma’, which he wrote, produced, directed and starred in. STIGMA is currently being promoted at festivals around the world and is an Official Selection of the Temecula Valley International Film & Music in Temecula, California as well as the Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles to name just a few. In 2010 Janusz started his own film production company called Pineal Films Production. Next to dancing, acting and filmmaking Janusz took part in numerous photo shoots for different photographers around the world.
