Born and raised in rural west Texas, Jessica’s family homestead is the inspiration behind her debut clothing line Twenty Acres by Jessica Miller. Early on in Jessica’s childhood she found her love for fashion. Her mother, an artist began teaching her to draw, sew, and the importance of creativity. Jessica credits her father for her hard work ethic and by implementing the skills and virtues passed down from her parents; she received an art scholarship to attend McMurry University located in Abilene, Texas. It was there she decided to follow her dreams and study fashion which lead to her decision to transfer to Texas Tech University. Majoring in Apparel Design and Manufacturing, Jessica was blessed with an internship opportunity to work with accomplished designer Chloe Dao in Houston. After spending a summer in Houston learning the ropes of the fashion industry from Chloe, Jessica returned to Lubbock to finish school and graduated in August of 2009. It was shortly thereafter that another opportunity came her way and she accepted a job to be Chloe Dao’s assistant designer. Jessica packed up her belongings with aspirations of making her mark on the fashion scene and headed for Houston where she currently resides.
