The San Antonio Figure Drawing group is open to all artists in the San Antonio, Texas area. Each week, in an historic studio generously provided by the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, we gather to draw the nude figure. The Thursday night session concentrates on short pose, gesture drawings. Twenty minute sets are composed of one, three, five, or ten-minute poses. Time permitting, we finish with a fifteen or twenty minute drawing.

For centuries the nude figure has been considered the perfect form. Gesture drawings combine that form with an artful description of a body in motion. There is no direction from the group during short poses, the model is a participant in the creative process.

Our intention is to sharpen our drawing and or painting skills - photos of nude models are prohibited. This is a paid assignment.
