I photograph the streets of Detroit, for the most part. I prefer photojournalism to studio work. I typically shoot with a wide angle lens and off camera flash in my left hand. This way, I can get to where I want to be without worrying about light stands or tripods. I like to experience things, to be in the middle of things, and photograph. The edgier, more dangerous, more illegal, the better. I prefer to wait for my subjects to appeal to me rather than pose them myself. I love shooting with long exposures and getting color and light sweeping through a photo and having my subject lit by a puff of flash. I don't at all mind shooting with a high ISO and all grain and grit that it produces. I don't do much post processing because I'd rather be shooting/ experiencing than sitting in front of a computer. My goal is always to get the shot correct in camera and not to rely on photoshop to make my images unique. I gusess I'd sum my style up with these words: fast, gritty, criminal.
