Cristina Jimenez Rey was born in Palencia,Spain. Since childhood she has been enthusiastic about visual art, and has worn her creativity like a hereditary symbol, strongly asserting her place as an artist in her family and society.

At eleven years old Cristina moved to Salamanca with her family and started to develop an intense interest in drawing. She attended the Drawing School San Eloy at an early age, and later at age eighteen began a lifelong passion for photography. Using her mother’s old analog camera, she took pictures of everything around her, but began to focus increasingly on her friends and social circles.

At 19 years old she decided to study Art History in Salamanca. In 2005 she moved to Rome to study for a year, and upon returning to Spain the following year she won her first photography competition. Cristina graduated in 2007, and decided to increase and intensify her academic and professional interest in photography, enrolling in the “Master of Visual Media Design: photography” program in ELISAVA Design School of Barcelona in 2009. Cristina kept the contemporary Art world in her sights, as she won a major grant to study and complete another Master’s program in Granada the following year.

Through her career, Cristina’s photographs have been used as album covers, local magazines and film magazines. She has also worked as an accredited photographer in Film Festivals, and has illustrated photographic journals of weddings.

Her style has changed much since she began her work in photography, with a focus shifting more and more towards the intricacies of the human body.


She have been working in a studio in Soho(London)for the last seven months,currently she is looking for work and increasing her knowledge.
