The first time I ever touched a camera, I was a skinny 9 year old boy. I was enrolled in the High and Wide program which was created to give kids in elementary school experiences outside of the traditional academic one. Through this program I was introduced to the arts.

They slapped a camera in my hand and told me to go out and take pictures. The love affair began. I was able to learn not only how to shoot but how to develop film as well. And quite honestly, the darkroom was my favorite place to be. Unfortunately, I didn't have the disposable income to maintain such a hobby. =o(

Fast forward many years later... I'm not a skinny 9 year old boy anymore. I'm old enough to know that if you don't follow your passions, they curse you to your grave. And thanks to the advent of digital photography, I can experiment with pictures all day and night without the worry of wasting film!
