Hello! My name is Athena and I LOVE to do hair and makeup. I am SUPER laid back and fun to work with! I have been a licensed and working cosmetologist for just over a year now. Graduating from Douglas J Aveda Institute in February of 2011, I have strong technical skills in coloring and cutting. I take my work VERY seriously.

I am looking for photographers who want to get together and help build each others portfolios, or any models who are looking to build their portfolio as well. I am willing to do any type of style when it comes to hair and makeup, however pin-up is not my forte and I prefer to avoid it. Gothic, grungy and punk styles are my favorite.

Also, I am not promoting the "only one body type is beautiful" mentality that the beauty industry has. I want models of ALL shapes, curves, sizes, heights. If you have confidence, a great smile and a wonderful personality, chances are, I'll work with you! All body types are beautiful and should be respected. I am also willing to work with ANY gender. Transgender, male, female, cis-female, cis-male or whatever gender you may identify yourself as, I do not care.

I am currently very open to working for TF. However if your vision is extensive and is going to cost me a lot of money or if I am traveling out-of-town, compensation is preferred. Each vision/project is different, so prices will vary based on that. I do require that I be able to see the photos taken of my work, edited or unedited, I do not have a preference. The amount of photos given to me for TF varies from photographer to photographer so we can discuss that in private. I also require that I receive the photos on a CD or through email without a watermark/copyright on the photo, as it is difficult for me to print them off for my portfolio without some sort of documentation. I do not mind posting photos with watermarks/copyright on the internet [clearly], but for my professional portfolio, it can look a bit messy.

I am willing to travel depending on where you are located. Please try to give me at least a week [7-day] notice for a photoshoot. I do hair for a living and have a job, which obviously takes first priority over any TF work.

My work schedule is as follows: mon-weds 10-7, fri 10-7, and sat 9-3. You may ask for my participation in any photoshoot that is outside of my work hours and at a reasonable time. I do work in Okemos, so keep travel time in mind when asking. :)
