Starr Devereaux was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Just months later, her parents decided they wanted to give their newborn the best life possible. They picked up and moved to Queens, NY where Starr was raised. This consequently, helped blossom her diverse love for music. As one of the youngest of her generation, she had her family to introduce her to the styles of prominent artists including Prince, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Patti Labelle, Marvin Gaye, just to name a few. Ms. Devereaux has always found herself singing her way into small groups and choirs. Starr hads had several experiences that cemented her interest in music. It started with her elementary school traditions. Each year, the entire student body performed at the Christmas concert, performing Holiday songs. Starr made a point to never miss a rehearsal, and was even early every year! Neither rain nor snow could keep her away from getting in front of that audience. This led Starr to joining her school's Gospel Choir, which she had been active in for four years. Alongside her choir members, Starr was invited to perform for New York City's elite at the famous Waldolf Atsoria. Later on, in high school, Ms. Devereaux decided to continue her studies in music. She auditioned for the choir and accompanied the group on a trip to Daytona, FL. They were invited to perform with Florida A & M University's concert choir in a tribute to fellow HBCU, Bethune Cookman College. Watching and singing alongside those talented music majors gave Starr a great sense of appreciation for the craft. Now, as an aspiring recording artist, Ms. Devereaux is keeping herself busy with hopes of becoming successful in the entertainment industry. She is broadening her talents and crafting herself to be a triple threat. Starr is featured in the movie, Tumbling. It is the first independent project written and directed by Brooklynn Winters. While studying her role, she is also preparing for the recording of the soundtrack, both soon to be released. Ms. Devereaux seals the deal with her modeling talents, expanding her print work and rocking the runway. She looking to network and work with talented people who can help her expand her portfolio and resume,andin turn continue to bulid her brand.
