ABOUT THE MAN BEHIND THE LENS:

Aaron Ashley has been pursuing photography through a wide range of genres incorporating two dominate elements of fashion & portrait photography into his visionary art. Being one of the main photographers for the Canadian branch of the leading international DJ magazine, DJ MAG (www.djmag.ca), he has had the opportunity to do coverage of some of the top Djs in the world! Previously working with the Beatz Radio crew (www.beatzradio.com); an underground radio station driven by a group of dedicated DJs; he conceptualized the “Beatz Babez” which was live modeling events shot in various cities and all while travelling the distance to Calgary and back to shoot regularly with Troy Young, a prominent Calgary based fashion photographer Combining his experience and artistic vision he has culminated this fresh innovative approach to live shooting in the club, thus introducing you to the exclusive feature at Studio 107 DanceClub; “Fashionista’s Night Out”

Driven by a desire to develop the Edmonton fashion industry into a connected network, he has collaborated with Studio 107 DanceClub (10740 Jasper Ave) and Playboy Energy drink to bring his passion for the two industries of live event music and fashion photography to the next level. Hosting live modeling events throughout the summer; providing an open concept, publicly interactive opportunity for both amateur and experienced models to participate in the Studio 107 & Playboy model Search Contest.
The shoots are done in the club environment with live spectators, embracing an interactive experience and approach that has not been done before. Tastefully upholding the principles of beauty and elegance of the playboy heritage; we encourage all models to dress how they feel best illustrated their style with a classic twist. Top participants will be featured at the Fashionista Gala; where the BEST photo (announced at the Gala) will win some great prizes and recognition!

WHAT IS THE FASHIONISTA GALA??

It is a social event with wine and tapas featuring music by one of Edmonton's top DJ's, bringing all relevant industries together under one roof for an intimate networking experience. A place where all entrepreneurs in the industry can meet and mingle with like individuals; where models can meet other models, photographers, graphic designers, agents and other people in the fashion industry opening doors for future collaborations. The top models that have been selected throughout the month will be featured at the gala, and the winner for best photo will be announced and prizes will be distributed. Emphasizing on generating industry contacts and celebrating fashion we bring you the FASHIONISTA GALA!
