About Me

My goal is to put my years of photography experience to work for you. I have Professional equipment, but equipment alone is NOT enough. I've been taking great photos for over 10 years, and there still are new things to learn, and try. I enjoy experimenting, and have a dedicated infrared camera that I enjoy trying at nearly every shoot. The black and white photos from the infrared camera are stunning, but the ones with a bit of color left in can be awesome if not surreal! I have a studio set up with monolights and backdrops, or I can set these up in any location. I also will do outdoor shoots using reflectors, soft-panels and even strobes.

Editing is great, but starting with a great photo is the FIRST step.

For those who know the technical side of things, I use a 50mm f1.2L lens, a 70-200 f2.8L series II, a 24-105 f4L, a 100mm f2.8, a 8-15mm f4L, 16-35 f2.8L series II, plus a few others that are not normally used for this kind of photography. I also use 2 different 7D bodies, as well as the infrared converted 50D. I have the new EOS 1DX on order, and also have the new 24-70 f2.8L series II on order. I use six monolights with softboxes, 2 580EX speedlights, hair-lights, reflectors, and tons of other things.

I have tons of photos on my Flickr, but I need some additional models to build a more robust and diverse portfolio.

Tell me what you want to shoot, and I might be interested in doing it as a TFCD deal. If not, I am very reasonable. Times are tough, you don't NEED to spend a ton of cash for awesome photos!

I make plenty of cash shooting weddings, but I want to branch out now, so get me while I am reasonably priced!

I will travel to most of MD, NOVA, DC, Some parts of PA, and Occasionally NJ and DE. Anything else: ASK!

Here are my thoughts on who should be paying who when a model and a photographer are discussing payment. If the model has better shots in HER portfolio than the photographer has in HIS portfolio, the model should be paid. If the photographer has better shots in HIS portfolio than the model, then the photographer should be paid. If they are both empty, or both roughly at the same level, then it should be an even exchange (TFCD.)

Having said all that, I am usually pretty generous. I am making decent money from my other shoots, and don't mind overpaying a bit, or possibly doing a TFP or TFCD even when I have the better portfolio. We all have to eat, and I'll still be eating well, even if I put a few bucks in the model's pocket. I'm usually talking about $25 per hour to start. If you REALLY know what you are doing, it can be double or triple that. I don't do typically do nude, implied, or anything along those lines, so I don't really photograph models for too much more than $25-$75 per hour.

Have an interesting idea? Let me know, and we can kick it around.

I am always up for something interesting or something new.
