About me. Hmmm well let’s see.

My first camera had a single flash bulb with steel wool looking stuff inside that burned your fingers when you pulled it off to throw away. I then graduated to a flash cube that had FOUR flashes. Then…a flash bar with FIVE – which was just an irritation really: 12 prints from a 110 film cassette and 15 flashes? That’s like hot dogs in a 10 pack, but buns in an 8 pack…what’s that about?

Although I’ve moved up a bit in the camera department over the years, my enjoyment of capturing ‘moments in time’ whether it’s on film, or on a digital sensor is much the same as when I was a kid. I’m still amazed when I look at the back of the camera and see exactly what my mind’s eye saw through the lens – I only wish that happened more than it does – sometimes I get lucky and am happier with what I see that what I thought I’d see.

I’m a semi-pro photographer that has made a buck or two shooting portraits, parties and headshots, but mostly I enjoy the creating. I have a fairly successful “day job”, so I don’t shoot to eat – which gives me the ability to enjoy it for the sake of the art itself; it would be nice to actually pay for my equipment addiction though. This stuff costs more than golf and has just as many trinkets that I MUST HAVE.

I’m available evenings and weekends and look forward to getting better and better as time goes by. Wait – there may be a song in there…
