Celebrity makeup artist Jacen Bowman learned at an early age the importance of accepting – and loving – who you are. Born and Raised in Philadelphia, PA, his mother instilled in him the philosophy that “Everyone is different, be true to yourself in order to achieve who you are and what you want to be, but remember be comfortable in your own skin.” This statement has become the mantra by which Jacen lives and the power behind it has led to him incredible success.



“I always loved expressing myself through the arts I never had a normal style ….. Besides what is really normal ?“ Jacen Stated at a recent interview for Philadelphia Style Magazine. As a young boy, Jacen began experimenting with color and makeup on himself back in high school. “I used to always pick my bumps and I had this one blemish that just wouldn‘t go away. I bought my first MAC NW45 conceal and the rest is history.” Jacen’s beauty undoubtedly served as his inspiration and canvas in his early stages. Motivated by his mother a Published Poet and Business Entrepreneur, Jacen pursued a career in Journalism, yet he never abandoned his inner passion for art, makeup and fashion. Luckily, with encouragement and inspiration from mentors (including Professional Make- Up Artist Christian Balenciaga and celebrity hair stylist Leon Hutcherson and Yolanda Reed. Jacen soon put aside his education to pursue his ultimate dream – exploring the power of makeup.



Though Jacen is still New to the industry but trust me he is no “Rookie” and no wonder why he is quickly moved to the top of the “it” list of “who’s who” in the beauty industry, quickly becoming one of the industries most dynamic and in demand talents. With his passion for art, color, and design, along with His charm, contagious enthusiasm and magnetic personality, it is no wonder that some of the world’s top celebrities are starting to turn to him to prepare for their most important career moments. Jacen has worked with some of the top designors for NYc Fashion week such as Betsey Johnson, BET's Black Girls Rock, Badgley Mischka and BET's Rip the Runway. Some of his Celebrity Clients include Meagan Good, Glenn Lewis, Erica Hubbard, Adult Film Star Alexis Ford, Celebrity Stylist Debra Ginyard, Nejcion Da Artist, Team Ice Cream and he recently signed on board to work with Video Director Shannon Muir. He has also been featured in editoral spreads in Floss Magazine. Jacen is also a full time student at Paul Mitchell Beauty School studying Cosmetology and Esthetician. While Maintaining a full time job at MAC Cosmetics in Cherry Hill New Jersey The sky is the limit for Jacen and boy is he reaching.....

According to Jacen via Calvin Klein, “The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural” Calvin Klein said that best but its something that I stand behind and live by.”
