About me, I am a portrait photographer who lives in Denham Springs, LA and works in Southern Louisiana with my wife Buffy, daughter Adalie, and son Jakob who also lives in California. People ask me how I knew that I wanted to become photographer, and I tell them that after I came back from serving a tour in Iraq, I felt a need for balance in my life. When I picked up and started to use my Minolta film camera I knew that photography would provide me that outlet. After scraping by and purchasing a digital camera, I knew that this was more than just a way to express myself; it was starting to become a passion. Since then, I have started to refine where my greatest creative energy comes from and focus on it to become the photographer that I am today.
What I love most about my work is the creative freedom to design a portrait whether that portrait is an editorial, fine art, environmental, or conceptual studio. When creating an image I have two main starting points to jump off from; the concept or idea that I am trying to create and the environment that I’m working in. By concentrating on the environment, I can see jumping-off points where I can begin my work and follow the concept or idea through the shoot.

When people see my work, I'd like them to feel as if they are in the same environment as the subject and feel as if they can connect with the person in the image. I want to provide the basic understanding and meaning of the image, but it is up to every viewer to determine what the image means to them.
