About Me

"This is my camera!
There are many like it, but this one is mine!
My camera is my best friend... It is my life."

The first step was going to the Mount Royal University library and reading about video. I couldn’t check any thing out because I wasn’t enrolled so I would find a secluded place in the library to read and take notes every day. I referenced countless sites on the internet in the search of techniques to achieve high production value on little to no budget. I admired internet media stars for their ability to find cheap alternatives to that Hollywood look.

My first camera was a Sony EX1. I shot a variety of events for the next five years. In that time I joined I.A.T.S.E. (The Film & Stage Union) as a stage-hand, a grip, and lamp operator/electrician for film. My goal was to get on set and learn anything that could apply to my own projects. I worked on the set of Hell on Wheels, Heartland, Seventh Son, Waska the Last Snow, Twelve Men of Christmas, Inception, and The Right Kind of Wrong.

My journey has led to many awesome experiences and interesting places such as the Athabaska glacier to assist an American Eagle photo shoot and Australia to study video editing at The Edge institute in Queensland. Next I worked at a the famed camera store "The Camera Store". There I learned the principles of advanced studio and nature photography in order to apply this knowledge to video production.

I am always reading up on new technologies and finding ways to refine my own process. I hope soon to shoot a few more low budget short films that I have written called "Fix it" and "Orpheus" and eventually a post apocalyptic internet mini series called "Zombie Girl".
