Photography is something I rarely have time for these days, but it's a refreshing change of pace when I find the right model to create images with.

What I do:

Expressive, artistic portraits, either clothed or nude, where light and shade can swirl together the distinct personalities of photographer and model. Half the time I work in black and white, but I enjoy color as well.

A photo shoot, for me, is like a conversation: The themes and the style depend on who you are as a model. It's impossible to predict what "sexy" or "glamorous" or "sensual" or "stylish" or "moving" will mean until you're in front of the camera. The models I like have more than looks; they have unique character.

Although I have been paid for photo shoots in the past, I usually do time for print unless the shoot is a major commitment. Generally, I do not pay models for the session except when I am fulfilling a contract myself. But I guarantee the images you and I create will enhance your portfolio.

About me:

I'm 30, professional, and courteous. Prior to a shoot, we can meet at a coffee shop to discuss what we're doing, where I can also show you a wider selection of photographs. If the idea of working alone makes you uncomfortable, you are welcome to bring a chaperone.

I like to shoot on location -- outdoors or indoors. Believe it or not, sometimes the model's own home has more character (and props!) than she realizes -- although most people would understandably not be comfortable inviting a stranger over. Currently, I do not have a studio, since I just moved to the state. If you have suggestions for places to go, that always helps. I have my own ideas, but I also welcome your input -- location, clothing, props, concepts ... whatever you'd like to bring to the table. Have ideas of shots you'd like to see yourself in?
