About Me

I'm a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco where I studied fashion and wardrobe styling and I'm currently building a professional portfolio. I love styling photo shoots and I have experience from a fashion styling course. I also have experience styling and shooting lifestyle products, such as homewares. I have taken a class in digital photography, but I prefer to work with experienced photographers, as well as models, hair stylists, and makeup artists with at least some training. I'm good with Photoshop and Illustrator, and I usually use these to create mock magazine layouts for my images, which gives them a more professional look once they are in my portfolio. I'm very professional and organized when it comes to styling, as well as detail oriented and particular. I prefer to orchestrate shoots from concept to location to wardrobe to hair stylist and makeup artist, etc. but I am very open collaborations and hearing new concepts. I will usually ask to work time for print at this point in my career, which I find is usually beneficial to all involved. I love feminine, romantic, soft looks, and also energetic, edgy, and sometimes dark looks as well. I'm easy to work with and I love to produce beautiful photos so let me know if you'd like to enlist my help for your next project!

A note to photographers: I expect to have my pick from all images taken during our shoot, not just a few that you have selected to edit. I will not include unedited images in my portfolio or post any online, but I am very specific about what images I want to use. If this is going to be a problem please don't agree to work with me. Other than that I expect everyone involved in a shoot to be professional and respectful.

More information on what I'm looking for in:

Photographers-- I look for a general style and professional quality that I would like to have in my portfolio. I expect photographers to be good at editing images, and have a strong understanding of basic composition. By this I mean framing (I can't use images that are cropped inappropriately with the tops of model's heads or elbows/hands cut out of the shot for example) and alignment (all landscape and architectural features in the background should be aligned squarely with the photo). Please see my note above to photographers as well.

Models--I look for models from every ethnicity and style, but at this stage in my career in order to have the most profession look to my images, I usually select models who are tall and slender. This is not absolute, however. Your face and posing abilities are most important to me. I expect some sort of training or a lot of experience from models, and they must be professional. I don't think it's for a model to complain about hair, makeup, or wardrobe (I will never ask models to do nude or semi nude photos and will present the full concept to them before hand so it is up to them to decide if they want to be involved or not), and I expect them to do their best to capture the directions of the photographer and myself. Like everyone else I work with I expect them to be professional.

Makeup artists--I expect makeup artists to have a wide range of style and ability. Sometimes I ask for a fairly natural or classic look, and other times I will want very loud or avant-guarde makeup. I generally provide tear sheets to make sure we both understand the concept. I also expect makeup artists to provide their own makeup, but I generally aks models to bring their own foundation and concealer to the shoot for the best mach.

Hair stylists--I expect hair stylists to be very diverse in their styling, and of course have training from a beauty school. I love up-dos and and I'm very fond of curls so they must have a wide range of abilities. Being able to maintain, tweak, or even completely change the model's hair while we're shooting is important to me. I will provide tear sheets and expect to have the model's hair appear as close as possible to what myself or the photographer ask.

In return for the talent, cooperation, and professionalism of all involved, I will plan shoots, find locations, and keep everyone in contact throughout the process. I provide an extensive wardrobe, accessories, and props, and mangage and direct throughout a shoot. Let me know if you have any questions, or would like to work together!
