Hi, I’m Darryl of Cool Water. I have been heavily involved in photography since 1981 and professionally since 1988. I expanded into video in 2004. I taught photography at GTCC for several years, and the co-founder of the Triad Outdoor photographers group. I have worked with several different magazines and other publications. I learned the inside and outs of the photographic process at Konica-Minolta where I was employed for over 10 years. I specialize in Classic Hollywood B&W of the 30’s and 40’s, but I also do commercial and other types of portraiture; studio and on location. I consider myself very proactive in my technique, but I’m very laid back and open to other creative ideas and concepts. I prefer a no rush session to allow the muse to flow from model and photographer, but exceedingly capable of working under the strictest of deadlines. I work solely for hire unless I have a personal project and then I’ll be willing to trade copyright images for model’s time. We have a studio in the Triad area and Wilmington, NC.
