About Me

Jeanette Hordge is a native of Tampa, Florida. She found her passion for being in front of the camera and an audience at an early age. She started off by coordinating sleepovers which transcended into hosting her own television talk show entitled, The Diva J Way!

In efforts to gain as much experience in the communications industry, Ms. Hordge became an editorial columnist for the N-Touch Entertainment Newspaper published in Tampa, FL. This led to the coordination of social events for teens, where Hordge hosted and marketed 500+ teens throughout the Tampa Bay area.

This soon contributed to her being crowned “Miss In Living Color” 2003-04, “Miss Teenage Tampa” 2005-06 by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Hillsborough High School’s “Duchess” 2003-04, “Princess” 2004-05 and “Queen” 2005-06. After making appearances at different schools, Jeanette Hordge began mentoring young girls. This was the beginning of her life as a local celebrity.

Hordge was then invited to serve as a live pledge pitcher for WEDU PBS Channels during a two hour documentary, this began to open doors from all directions. After making a guest appearance on Sunny the Foxx radio show on WMNF 88.5FM she landed a spot as the co-host for MAGIC 94.1 FM “Spectrum” morning talk show with Dayle Greene. Eventually she wanted to develop a talk show of her own. The Tampa Bay Community Network was so impressed with Hordge's thorough television show proposal they offered to fund the entire project. After intense trainings, June 6, 2005 marked the day Ms. Hordge debuted as the hostess of The Diva J Way teen talk show.

Throughout that time, she had been sure to give back to her community by serving as a Girl Scout of the USA for 13 years as well as participating in community service events as a member of the Delta G.E.M.S. program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for 4 years. Her extracurricular activities included playing softball for 6 years, serving as the founder of the All Star Dance Team and being a member of the Hillsborough High School Dancerette team for 3 years where she competed in dance competitions throughout the state of Florida.

Upon graduating from Hillsborough High’s International Baccalaureate program Hordge pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Human Development at Howard University in Washington, D.C. As an undergraduate student, she became a staff writer for the Howard University Hilltop Newspaper, an Ambassador for the John H. Johnson School of Communications and the co-chair of the Public Relations department for Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, Incorporated, Alpha Tau Chapter. She gave back to her new community by serving as a member of the DC Big Brother Big Sister Mentoring Program and helped to organize the Diva-2-Diva Mentoring program in Tampa, FL. Her extracurricular activities included dancing as a member of the Howard University Bisonette Dance Ensemble for 3 years where she competed in the 2007 UDA Dance Competition in Orlando, FL.

Hordge continued to gain experience by serving as an intern at the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper during the summer of 2007. The following summer she was an intern at Hard Rock Café’s Embassy's Sales and Marketing department. During this time she was given the opportunity to coordinate concerts, celebrity album signings and other annual staple projects. The spring of 2009 also proved to be a learning experience as Jeanette Hordge interned at WTTG Fox 5 News station in Bethesda, MD. She then interned at Comcast Sports Network during the summer. However, at the end of 2008 Hordge was offered a position with DuBose Prosthodontics and the DuBose Institute for Dentistry as the Director of Marketing and Event Planning.

In her respective position Hordge helped Dr. DuBose revamp his entire business structure. Through turnaround of his organizations and businesses, establishing strategic systems, marketing and branding tactics, communication campaigns, promotional films and developing his website's flow and content, Hordge created an entirely new look for Dr. DuBose.

Her work caught the attention of her peers, causing the Howard University Student Association 49th Administration to request that Hordge serve as the Director of Public Relations Department for the Howard University Protest against the administration on September 4, 2009. With less than 24 hours to prepare, she immediately created a press release causing the protest to receive attention from local news stations, newspapers, national news wires, entertainment blogs, web journals, national radio stations and student publications. The protest even caught the attention of Hip-Hop’s legend, P. Diddy.

Her reputable work then led to her being invited to serve on the Board of Advisors for the William Kellibrew Foundation’s Communications Department. In this position, she has designed and edited newsletters, written press releases, maintained and written website content and aided in reforming the communications and marketing strategies of the organization.

As a Magnum Cum Lade graduate of Howard University, Jeanette Hordge has began to establish DASH Coordinating and Marketing, LLC as a profitable business accessible to companies of all genres. Her passion for marketing, communications and event planning has taken Hordge’s life by storm. After being recognized by the Women in Entertainment and Empowerment Network for her academic excellence and career successes, she has been unstoppable.

Hordge continues to give back to her community through serving as a volunteer for Daughter for The Day, Inc. in Washington, DC as well as Happy Helpers for the Homeless in Baltimore, MD while continuing to mentor young girls along the east coast through her online TV show, The Diva J Way! Her new hobbies include reading, networking and writing, with hopes to publish a book in the near future.

As an entrepreneur, Ms. Hordge invests in the tools, technology and training needed to compete in the industry. She attends national workshops and events coordinated by the DC American Marketing Association, Mercer Advisors and other skilled trainings.
