I am a fine artist currently getting her MFA in Drawing. I am looking for female models (right now) from age 20 to 50 who have experience modeling for artists. Tattoos, piercings, edgy and curvy looks a plus! I am also looking for opportunities as an artists, whether that be shows, groups exhibitions, or whatever comes up!

My current body of work explores the sexuality that is so heavy upon a woman's shoulders in today's era of media-imposed values. A girl grows up wanting to be sexy and trying to look older, only to become just that and then spend the rest of her life trying to stay younger looking and 'hot'. The media and society simply reinforce this, with their offering up of girls like Paris Hilton and the Kardashians as 'role models', showcasing scantily clad size 0 models in nearly every clothing ad out there, and promoting treating our body as an object in such TV shows as Bridalplasty and The Swan. We, as women growing up in this society, have to balance our longing to be independent, powerful, and successful women with the 'belief' that this means looking hot and being sexually 'rebellious'. My drawings and what they depict are still evolving; as are my ideas of how to represent my thoughts and how I deal personally with these issues, and how to confront the viewer with his or her own feelings on these issues. Pieces I have completed explore the inner feelings a girl has (timidness, hesitancy) as she puts herself out there as a sexual being - an almost "look at me, but don't look at me" type of image.
