I've been doing this longer than most of you. Funny things have happened along the way. Once an agency called looking for a photographer to shoot a hang tag for a new jeans line. I had a week to add something new to my book. I called friends asking if they knew a good model. I got a girl that was just back from Paris, shooting with Toscani. My friend Astrid called also, she had a couple pretty girls at her Pilates studio that needed pictures. I told her I already had a 'real' model. Maybe about a year and a half later I went to a movie with Astrid, and leaving 'Blade Runner' she said that "the girl that did the flips, Darryl Hannah" was the model that needed pictures. And her room mate "Rachel Ward, she is in 'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid'". Rachel Ward was probably the most beautiful woman on earth then.
About ten years later I was shooting for a LA magazine, 'LA Style' We were shooting a food article. I cast some wonderful character actors, and one sexy girl. My wardrobe stylist told me I had to shitcan my sexy model. She missed two wardrobe fittings. She was only 17, I should be able to find someone else. Well, I did. My stylist has since then done 'Rollerball', 'The 13th Warrior' and 'The Thomas Crown Affair'. The girl we got rid of, well, I only noticed 6 or 7 years ago when I was getting rid of old Zed cards. Angelina Jolie.
