About Me
About:
I am a photographer based in Southern California. My work in engineering and technology provides constant opportunity to meet people and travel around the Western US and Europe. My photography is something that I am compelled to do in order to release my creative energy and enjoyment that I get from working with people. Photography: The creative outlet of working with models is far more interesting to me as a photographer than most other types of photography. I am doing ongoing work in electronics product(s) photography for web and marketing brochures. My focus and interest, however, is in fun imagery, stock images, fine art, and head shots, I am always looking to do shoots with models and makeup artists who enjoy working with a photographer who is laid-back and likes to keep things professional, relaxed and drama-free. I do have periodic access to a well-equipped studio. I use top-quality film and digital equipment*. All of my gear is professional-level equipment. You will find me easy to work with and enthusiastic about both location shoots or studio work. Concepts: If you have an interesting photography concept, you are likely to catch my interest quickly. Let me know what you have in mind and maybe we can work on it. Although the best lighting comes from the sun (plus it is free and requires no reservations), getting into the studio is sometimes nice. DanPhoto Photography: Arrange a shoot: My schedule is often flexible and I welcome models and makeup artists who would like to do a photo session. We all give paid work our priority, and I am no different. The best way to contact me is here, via Model Mayhem. Newbies welcome. Tags, questions, compliments, and comments are welcome- don't be shy. I do welcome constructive criticism on my photography and my photo setups, but any comment specifically negative about any model will be deleted. Random fine print: TFP/TFCD can often be arranged for local models and makeup artists who need to build their portfolio. A basic model release form is required. Models under 18 must have a parent sign a model release and be within view for the entire shoot. I could admire the fetish and nude photography of others, but it isn't my focus as a photographer. There are no objections to models bringing a safety escort. (Your friend, mom, roommate, another model, bodyguard, or husband will make a good escort... but I find that being accompanied by either drama or boyfriends doesn't contribute to a good shoot.) Concert, Music, and Band Photography: I am collaborating with a well known and concert reviewer who is expanding into concert and band photography. If you are a member of, or know of a band that requires concert or promotional photography or concert reviews from a well respected name in that industry, please contact me via Mayhem-e-mail. We are interested in any and all concepts including photography, album reviews, and concert reviews. Footnotes: *People often ask what type of equipment is used. I shoot with top quality professional gear. The question, however, should not be "what camera is used?" The question should be "how well does your photographer use that equipment?" Take a look at the work that some people create and post online elsewhere with cheap point-and-shoot cameras. The photographer makes the shot, not the thousands of dollars of electronics and glass that we carry in our go-bags. I have a variety of gear from different manufacturers, but most of the time my work is done with Nikon's digital body, the D2x. Verified Credits (0)Worked with danphotophotography?
