Basia Emano (nee Staszel) was born in the mountainous region near Zakopane, Poland, before migrating to the flatlands of the Midwest. Now a full-fledged Chicagoan, Basia's passion for the arts and humanities has propelled her through life with an ever-increasing sense of commitment to her community and culture. Her internship at the Illinois Film Office launched her into a 20-year trek through the film, television and theater industries. Her zeal and enthusiasm are refreshed daily.
