Damien Jackson was born in Gibraltar to Caribbean parents and brought up in

Brooklyn, New York. After attending college and living in Nashville for

15 years, he returned to his adopted home of Brooklyn where he began

shooting his documentary-style photography. Inspired by adversity and

admiring of human strengths in the face of such struggles, he documented the

2010 floods in Nashville. One of the photos in this series was featured in

the May issue of Essence Magazine. In today's world where many press images

document the tragic and the challenging, Damien hopes to evoke hope and

faith by capturing the true beauty of people and their surroundings.
