Hector has starred and produced over 220 hours of television and motion pictures in Latin America, with his film braking box office records. He is one of the most respected martial artists in the world and holds the title of the World Kickboxing Champion, undefeated since 1989. He recently moved to Los Angeles to position himself as the new action hero and to Fallow his love for Photography.
NBC’s EXTRA declared “Move over Van Damme, Jackie Chan and Segal: There is a new action hero; Hector Echavarria.”
Black Belt Magazine named Hector “The next martial arts movie star of the 21st Century”. Echavarria is currently working with writer/producer Ron Shusett who’s sci-fi action and thriller films have reached worldwide grosses of over one billion dollars, and produced and wrote mega-blockbuster “Total Recall” and “Minority Report”  in the development and the creation of a franchise project that will transform Hector into the next action hero.
Furthermore, Hector has a complete understanding of the marketing and product placement. He helped create a popular comic strip based in his martial arts skills that sold more than two hundred fifty thousand copies a week. Hector, among many other things, developed his own line of merchandising and collectables, including cards, poster, clothing and action figures, this last one in South America sold more than one million units within two weeks.

Hector’s charisma and driven energy has attracted to his team some of the biggest names in the film industry: Mike Doban, former President of United Artist theatrical world-wide distribution. Ric Wake, former CEO of Sony Records, responsible for producing and discovering Jennifer Lopez, Celene Dion, Christina Aguilera and producer of the Oscar winning soundtrack Chicago and icon movie writer/producer, Ron Shusett among others.
Hector has created solid relationships in the film industry. Some of the relationships include studios such as Warner Bros., Sony, Lion’s Gate, as well as with mega-production Companies such as Silver Pictures (“Die Hard”, “Lethal Weapon”. “The Matrix”),etc.
Hector recently produced and starred in “Confessions of a Pit Fighter”, to be released by mega studio Lionsgate in November, 2008. Hector has also produced “Lake Dead” for Alliance Group Entertainment, film which was distributed by After Dark Films theaters November, 2007. After Dark Films has released movies such as “An American Hunting”, “Eight Horror Films to Die For”, “Captivity”, “Skin Walker”, etc.
Hector just finished his first Hollywood feature as a producer, writer and director: “Duel of Legends”, film to be released theatrically in the US by Oceana Media in 2009, in Latin America by Pachamame Cine and in Europe by Granada Media.
Last Hector will precent his first Photography Book in Los Angeles California in 2010.
