About Me

I've been doing photography for about a year, but I think I've managed to put out some solid work in that time. I am obsessive about my hobbies. Every day, I spend several hours either reading about technique, taking photos, or editing. Some days I will spend 12+ hours shooting and editing.

I think the biggest thing that separates me from a lot of the other photographers I've met is that I refuse to settle for "good enough." If I go through a set of photos, and I don't like any of them, then they're gone. I don't try to salvage anything. I see a lot of people with really solid portfolios and then I hit some really awkward photos and wonder why they put their name on it. I don't ever want anyone to think this about me. Everyone takes bad photos at times, but I think the thing that separates a good photographer from a great photographer is knowing what to save and what to delete. I am of the opinion that your portfolio is only as strong as your weakest photo. If a photo isn't 100% as good as I can make it, then I don't want it representing my work.

I'm very new to photography, and I don't have a lot of the common sense that comes with years of experience, but I believe I have an unusual level of dedication to what I do, and I think that's my main strength. I may not take the best photos, but I try really, really hard to have a solid final product. As I get more comfortable with the technical elements, I think my creativity will start to work its way in and I will find my own unique style.

At the moment I am interested in shooting anything and everything. If you're interested in working with me then send me a message. I am most interested in models with vision. I know that a big part of being a photographer is being able to pose models, but I'd prefer to work with models who bring something to the table besides standing there and doing what I tell them. I prefer a collaboration where both sides are throwing ideas out there and influencing the photos. One of my favorite photos I've ever taken came from my model suggesting a particular location while we were wondering around during an outdoor shoot. I like models that are about the creative process as much as they are looking beautiful.

If you've got a cool idea for a themed shoot and you can't find the right photographer for it, shoot me a message and we'll work something out.
