I usually work in black and white film, medium format and large format, Pentax 6x7 and Linhof Master Technica. When traveling I use a 35mm Leica M4. When forced to do digital I use a Sony a7r. 

I studied traditional painting techniques with the Fantastic Realist Ernst Fuchs in Austria, while my bother studied with Ansel Adams in Yosemite. I picked his brains. One way or another I view photograhy as an art.

My father and grandfather had darkrooms so I have one too. I have a portrait studio on the top floor of my home. Sometimes I shoot outdoors. Females are the only subject really worth the effort.  Generally I view females as fertility goddesses, though not all females realize they are one 😄 I try to be respectful.
 
I think what happens in a good shoot is that people bring themselves to a moment, and for a few hours they invent a world.  At the end of the shoot the world vanishes, except the pictures which remain as artifacts.
