I was born in New York City and grow up in Mahopac, NY. Mahopac's close proximity to the city afforded me to go sight seeing and visit art galleries on a regular basis. Photography started as a simple hobby during this time. After graduating from high school, I moved to South Florida. In 1992, I obtained an Associate Degree in Graphics. Currently I am a professional photographer who works with models and clients.
While growing up, I was captured by mythology from cultures around the world. The painter Michael Whelen's use of symbolism and mythology were a big inspiration for me. Anime movies, comic book artwork, and Patrick Nagel's illustrations inspired me to add graphic details with clean lines and shapes. In this first series, the illustrations include symbols, colors, and textures. The textures are things I have taken photographs of over time. Blended together with symbolism everything in the image has some meaning to it. http://Facebook.com/ben.baron2 Credit Notes
