Growing up in Stratford, CT, Skylar always had a love for the arts. She started dance classes when she was the age two and absolutely loved it. Continuing dance until seventeen years old, she studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and character. She then began teaching ballet at eighteen for New England Ballet School & Company, and loved sharing her passion and skills for dance. At thirteen, Skylar received her first digital camera, a Kodak Easy Share. Every day, she was out taking photos of lady bugs, flowers and her pets. She kept growing with her love of photography, and her skills grew and got stronger. Skylar started photographing friends and family shortly after, and then it grew to photographing her dance companies performances of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake. Skylar was so inspired by her uncle’s photography, and wanted to pursue her own career in photography, and is now currently attending Hallmark Institute of Photography, and plans on graduating June 2011. She has always loved nature and portrait photography, and recently commercial photography has made a huge impact on her life. Skylar has big dreams and goals of owning her own studio one day, or even working for commercial studios working with still life photography and advertising companies.
