About Me

With over 30 years of experience, I find the word "amateur" a bit misleading, so I call myself a "non-commercial" photographer. I shoot for fun, not for profit, so I do not seek or accept paid assignments.

My primary interest is portraiture. Three of my portraits have placed first out of over 2,000 entries in the annual Iowa State Fair Photo Salon, a juried competition. One of my portraits was Best of Show in 2007. I enjoy post production and retouching as much as planning and capturing images.

My main reason in joining ModelMahem is to participate in the forums, where I've discovered some very talented individuals. But I'm also interested in connecting with models who might bring some creative ideas.
