I have been an amateur photographer since my dad set up a darkroom at home when I was 12 and I dodged in a UFO landing in my front yard (for you young folk, that was the 60'€™s version of Photoshop). My photography interests are varied but until recently were geared towards fine art, as I also paint and sculpt, though I make my living in design and manufacturing. I have joined MM to find models for products for a side venture that is more of a personal interest than a lucrative business model, but what is life if you can'€™t have some fun?

NOTE to Models: I have done a search for models who may be interested in the types of shoots I wish to do and added their names to my favorites. I viewed every portfolio and if I saw potential, I read the profile, and only then was the decision to add you made. I came away from the process with a few concerns and just in case that information is shared with the models I add to that list and you look at my profile I would like to make a few things clear.

While many profiles here are obviously by serious professional models and others by sincere amateurs, some model profiles seem more like escort come-ons than people seeking actual modeling work. If I contact you about a potential shoot it is indeed with the sole intent of capturing images. Though not necessary, I expect you to have a chaperone given the erotic nature of most of the type work I will be requesting. I do not care if you are experienced or it is your first shoot but I expect that you intend to be serious about modeling and attempt to be professional. If you have any expectation of something different, I do not want to hear back from you.

If I contact you it will be for a paid assignment or paid plus CD. The uses for which my images are intended are not harmed by posting or other dissemination likely desired by most models therefore you will receive generous usage rights spelled out in the model release agreement (required). I will provide a CD with raw files of images I intend to keep at the end of the shoot and a CD of .jpegs after post processing with each image in both full resolution and reduced small enough for you to post on Model Mayhem within a reasonable time period.

If you have numerous or large tattoos that are not obvious on your profile, I need to know. They are a distraction to the image and/or product being promoted. This does not disqualify a model but may add substantially to the cost of rendering a final image as they may need to be removed in post processing (i.e. Photoshop. I don'€™t consider myself a wizard, but I am pretty damn good); therefore the size and number of tattoos will affect the hourly rate offered on an assignment. I also need to be aware of significant piercings.

I may be an amateur, but you can expect me to behave in a professional manner and not deviate from the type of shoot outlined prior to the shoot. I will pay an amount agreed on at the time of booking if the shoot is canceled and travel expenses if traveling greater than 30 miles from the shoot location.

I may only do one or two shoots per quarter and will try to book 3 weeks in advance, so if you are interested, respond promptly.

Although the above may make me seem rigid, I am actually very easy going and understanding. The key to a successful project is up front two way full and open communications. Rather than have tension on the set, I would like to be prepared to work within a models comfort zone and failing that, have the model feel free to express reservations at any time. Nothing I will try to shoot will be absolutely necessary or have a critical deadline. Some of what I am going for will be to market products, the rest is personal interest or to develop my own skill, but I would like it to be at least some fun for all.
