About Me

I am an underdog. When I was a pro athlete people said I was too short, too stalky and too young to compete at the highest level. The only reason I succeeded was because I believed that I had worked harder than the guy next to me.
I constantly proved doubters wrong and often surprised a crowd. How did I do this? Day in and day out I was the first one at practice and the last one to leave.
I’m a firm believer that if you want something you have to put in the work and earn it.
When I stopped competing I realized what I loved most about being an athlete was competing against myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love to win, just ask my family about game night! I learned that the beauty of sport is in the day-to-day struggle, when no one is paying and no one is watching.
To me, that effort is beautiful. When I go out to take photos of an athlete I do my best to honor that effort and that beauty.
As for photography, I’m motivated by light. Light sets the mood. It shows texture. Light adds drama and gives focus. Light inspires me.
I aim to combine my love of light with my love of sport. Beautifully revealing the intimate moments athletes spend pushing themselves to extraordinary. And capturing portraits of those committed to their pursuits.
