The short of it: I'm a MD native and SOTA Resident artist with a degree in Apparel design. I make things I love and hope you'll enjoy them too!

The long of it: Lacey Kalivoda Wheatley. That's my full name. The word Kalivoda is a Czech name, my maiden-name-turned-middle-name, and when I think about it, it reminds me of the d.i.y. spirit, creative minds, and adventurous spirit of those who came before me in my family. To me, this word sums up the best of all their parts and mine. With my own two hands I create Kalivoda clothing, a line of feminine, softly-tailored pieces made from recycled, vintage, and eco-friendly textiles. I approach fashion with an artist heart as well as with a degree in Apparel Design, and a desire to create beautiful, intelligent things. My past work has focused heavily on one-of-a-kind pieces and small runs, but I'm currently moving into the creation of a small boutique wholesale line as well. I love the language of clothing.
