About Me

Having realized a love for the arts early on in life, Reda Sedki began studying photography as a teenager in Cairo, Egypt, his birth place. His love for the art motivated him to practice it as a hobby his entire life, as he worked professionally as an engineer. He photographed his travels in close to 30 countries in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
After settling in Ottawa in 1988, Reda continued to study photography at the Ottawa School of Art and Algonquin College. Reda soon acquired a special interest for digital photography and began to realize that it was the future of imaging. This motivated him to practice and study extensively to enhance his knowledge and refine his skill.
Reda has been teaching digital photography, Photoshop and Lightroom to beginner and intermediate users since 2002. He is an active member of the Camera Club of Ottawa and the RA Photo Club. He is an award winner in several competitions in the Ottawa area, including the Orchid Society’s annual show. He has previously exhibited his work at the Atrium Gallery and Cumberland Gallery. Reda is also member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
Reda Sedki also uses digital painting to express his fond reactions to the diversity of Canada’s population, nature and environment. At first, the effect of his digital images raises many questions from art lovers, contemplating whether the work is photography or painting. Reda’s intent is to create photographic paintings that allow him to express his view through the camera’s lens.
For the last period Reda partnered with some photographers in a portrait studio in Ottawa and concentrated on Portrait art.
